Commissioner Trent Tidwell was born in the old Oregon City Hospital and is a product of the Oregon City Public School System. In the early years Trent attended King Elementary and Gardiner Middle School and graduated from Oregon City High School in 1991. Trent's family has called Oregon City home for three generations. Trent learned about the importance of preserving our pioneering and agricultural heritage from his grandfather Robbie. Having been primarily raised by a single mother, he knows that we ALL have to make ends meet at the end of the day and respects women who keep families together while pursuing a career. He understands the demands being placed on the taxpayers of Oregon City, and he personally cares about solutions.
Trent is currently a Masters Candidate at Warner Pacific College with a focus on human development. Trent chose his focus because of his natural propensity towards public service. To serve the public one must know them; not only on an intellectual level but on a personal level as well.
Commissioner Tidwell's interests include fishing, boxing, and a good cigar with a glass of Cognac. Trent values his friends and approaches life with a pragmatic sense of humor.
It's common knowledge that Commissioner Tidwell has a deep appreciation for Elvis Presley. For Trent, Elvis represents the American dream. A poor boy from Tupelo, Mississippi who believes in himself can work hard to attain success, and then take care of his family and friends. He served his country and left a legacy that will never be forgotten. He was a great American.
Professionally Trent is currently working as a Communications Consultant but holds his focus on the Oregon City Commission. He also has experience as a Property Manager and a Campaign Coordinator/Political Consultant.
